Although it might seem complicated, you can set up a wireless network with a little bit of technical knowledge. The hardware companies are working hard to make their devices easier to install. These routers come with all the necessary tools and are sometimes color-coded to make it easy for laymen to set up a WiFi connection. You can also find a lot of tutorials and DIYs on YouTube. Proper knowledge is required to master your WiFi connection in order to make it more secure, faster and more reliable. It also allows for file sharing within a controlled environment. Let's not be afraid, though. It is possible to master all aspects of your home WiFi connection without being technical or difficult. To give you maximum benefit, we've provided a step-by-step guide before you dive into the unfamiliar territory of connecting modems to routers and computers in order to achieve a connected setup.
1. Place a router in the best place.
A reliable WiFi connection requires a quality router. The router is the device that connects to your ISP's service and all wireless-enabled devices. You can find one that fits your needs, as your ISP might provide one. It is important to keep in mind that not all features and services are available. If you want to get one, it is better to go to the market with upgrade options. It may also be cost-friendly as the settings won't require any additional payments from your ISP. Place the router in a location that allows for easy access to all devices. Wireless interference will be less likely in such a location. It should be placed high enough to avoid electromagnetic fields and other electrical devices, such as microwave ovens.
2. Check your modem, and unplug it.
You already have an internet connection. This can be either a cable modem or a DSL modem. Next, turn it off and unplug it from either your laptop or computer. Now you can create the necessary connection between your router, modem and PC. You can also check out Buytvinternetphone plans if you don't yet have an internet connection. Everything else will flow smoothly once you have an internet connection.
3. Connect the modem to router
If the modem is not powered up and you haven't connected it to any other device, connect the router to the modem using an Ethernet cable. (Modems and routers usually come with their Ethernet cables). Turn them on and wait for a steady signal before connecting your computer or laptop. Remember that wireless connectivity is an option on most devices so this connection may not be necessary for the moment. This is used to configure your router so that all connected devices can find the WiFi network.
4. Connect the router to your computer.
Once your router and modem are up and running, connect another Ethernet cable to your router to your computer. Connect the router's LAN port to your laptop's Ethernet port. Now turn on your system to configure it.
5. Keep in mind the fashion you must use to power and connect everything.
Wait for the router to be powered, then turn on the modem. After a wait of around 2 to 3 minutes, your system will then be turned up. Although it may seem unnecessary, we assure you that this is not! Allow devices to build a stable network so that you can properly configure them once they are powered on.

6. You can access the management console/webpage of your router.
In case you followed each step correctly, you should now be online. If you have an updated device, the browser should direct you to the management page. You can still access it by yourself by following the instructions or the box on your device. It could be 192.168.1.1. It is usually this way, but you can always refer the manual or instructions page.
7. Change your password
After you have gained access, enter the password and username for your company. It can be found under the settings tab, under LAN configuration. You should choose something simple but easy to remember. To help you remember your connection, you can change the network name. This will be displayed as SSID. This is like giving your connection a personal touch.
8. Secure your device and connect with security
There are many options for encryption that you can choose from. WPA2 is the best. It is located in the security section of the configuration page. This is safer than WEP, but older adapters may be required to access the combination security mode.
9. To avoid traffic dangers, change the WiFi channel
You should avoid staying on the same channel if you live in an area with multiple internet networks. This can cause interference that could seriously impact your speed and connectivity. Choose one that is less frequently used. You can either use smartphone apps to analyze, or the traditional hit and test method.
10. Now you're ready to go.
After the setup is complete, unplug your laptop/computer from the router. Turn on WiFi on all devices and search for the network. Once you're done, enter your password and connect. Most laptops and computers come with
already installed. If they don't, you can run the setup CD provided with the adaptor to install it. If you connect the wireless adapter via USB, the system will automatically install the drivers. This guide will help you get connected quickly. Yes. It's that simple. All of you, happy surfing and connectivity this holiday season
