SCOPE FOR REVISION

Paper 1: Reading Comprehension and G.E. (70 marks)

Part A: Grammar and Usage
During the exam, questions with asterisks (*) are set in particular for high achievers.

1. If conditionals (Types 0, 1, 2)	Supplementary worksheets
2. Gerund, to-infinitives and bare infinitives	Excellence Grammar Unit 6
3. Tenses (Simple present tense, Present Continuous tense, Present Perfect tense, Past tense, Past Perfect tense, Future tense)	Excellence Grammar Unit 3, 4 and supplementary worksheets
4. Reported Speech	Excellence Grammar Unit 10
5. Agreement	Excellence Grammar Unit 13
6. Passive voice (Present tense and past tense)	Excellence Grammar Unit 9

Choose ONLY Part B OR Part C. DO NOT do both parts.

Part B – Comprehension (easier) (20 marks)

Part C – Comprehension (more difficult) (30 marks)

Formats: Blank-filling, matching, MCQ and answering questions in complete sentences

Paper 2: Writing (70 marks)

Part A: Guided writing

Part B: Short Writing (At least 100 words)

Part C: Long Writing (At least 120 words)

² Students are reminded to revise sentence structures in M4 (p.9-10) for guided writing. They can also revise the vocabulary items in M3 (P.9) and M4 (P.8).

Paper 3: Listening (70 marks)

Listening components will be played ONCE.

Integrated tasks using Data Files will be included.

Paper 4: Speaking (30 marks)

Part A: Individual Presentation

Students will get their examination topics right before the exam.

Preparation Time: 3 minutes; Assessment Time: 1 - 1.5 minutes

Part B: Group Discussion

5 topics will be given to students in advance. Teachers will go over the topics with students during class.

Preparation Time: 3 minutes; Assessment Time: 3 minutes
